Nick: What age range can people do Karate, from and till?
Sensei Pete: Four to whenever, no upper limit. I taught somebody at sixty eight.
Nick: So they have to be physically mobile? From child to older person?
Sensei Pete: Yes.
Nick: Can a disabled people do Karate?
Sensei Pete: Yes.
Nick: Is there any limitations on it?
Sensei Pete: Depends on their disability doesn’t it?
Nick: I mean for example if somebody was in a wheel chair, they can still do the punches and blocks can’t they and that?
Sensei Pete: It wouldn’t really work out if they were in a wheel chair really.
Nick: Right.
Nick: Have disabled people won awards or fights in tournaments? Do they do Karate and that?
Sensei Pete: I don’t know.
Nick: I’ll look into that.
Nick: In the 2012 Olympics what karate fights took place and what awards were won?
Sensei Pete: I can tell you now. Karate isn’t in the Olympics. It’s not an Olympic sport.
Nick: What sports are in the Olympics?
Sensei Pete: Tae Kwon Do and Judo.
Nick: What is the future of Karate?
Sensei Pete: Me!
Nick: Okay big boy.
