Three Tears and One Kiss: Dark Romance Stories extract

Sexy Independence

Katie wanted to have some fun. She thought about what she could do, where to go and who with. It was Friday night and she was getting ready for her night out. How long had it been since her last one? Too long, a voice in her head complained! Enough is enough, for tonight she was going to party even though she was on her own because her friends were busy working or with their boyfriends. She opened her wardrobe to look at her outfits. There were so many to choose from.
She glanced left and right taking in her many different items of clothing, three-dozen different colours and styles all thrown together like a school of fish in a crystal pond, dancing before her eyes. What to wear? A nice lilac trouser suit cut in the latest fashion, a denim mini skirt with matching pink vest top, a black long leather skirt with a split all the way up to the left thigh and silver bra top. So many outfits, all hot looking. Katie was a real looker who got the boys attention.
Catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror on the back of the door, she stopped pawing at her outfits to look at herself, what a sight she was! Five foot five, slim build, red shoulder length hair hanging loose, blue crystal eyes, freckles all over her lithe sexy body, a little cheeky smile and lovely small titties with button nipples and brown aureoles, not too big. Not forgetting a neat trimmed pubic bush, trimmed every month and shaved once a year at Xmas.
Distraction over, it was back to the clothes. That one! A cool pink top that read “English Princess” with a stylised George Cross underneath and pair of smart black jeans. My nice long legs will look erotically provocative in those. Every curve, muscle and shape will be visible, not to mention my wicked arse, Katie laughed to herself. She got her clothes ready, placing them neatly on her bed. It was time for a shower. Katie headed to the bathroom and grabbed a big towel on the way called a bath sheet. It had a wonderful picture of Big Ben on it from her trip to London a few months previously. Turning the water on, she let it warm up. Feeling the tepid temperature by hand, she pulled a face when the water wasn’t right. Katie wasn’t a patient lady and wanted everything right now, this bloody moment, to hell with waiting! I’ve got my life to live, places to go, parties to attend and men to chase, I’ll wait for things when I’m old and in an old peoples home!!
She pranced out of the bathroom to put the radio on; her new slim line state of the art digital radio was worth two hundred quid, it was a real beauty. BBC Radio One blasted out of the speakers a little too loud, the bass on full but it was okay, her neighbours knew how much Katie liked her music. She would flash her wicked smile and everything would be all right. Sara Cox was doing her music show playing a Fat Boy Slim remix that thudded and thumped in a crazy pulse of happiness. Katie danced once around her living room and returned to the bathroom. Yes the shower’s just right now, she felt the hot water flowing over her upturned face and smiled to herself, tonight was going to be a good night. Who would she meet tonight?
After her refreshing shower Katie slowly got changed, listening to more dancey tunes that Sara spun on the turn table. What a good DJ she was, day dreamed Katie. She should come and have a girly night out with me! Who knew what they would both get up to?
A bit of rose blusher was the only make up she wore, her youthful looks gave her a model’s complexion so she didn’t need lots of expensive make up. Even in twenty years Katie would be youthful just like her lost mother. What a bind it must be fighting male admirers off half your age, she laughed, really missing her mum who sadly passed away two years ago to cancer.
After changing Katie looked at herself in the mirror. A voice came to her. "You'll do!" just what her mum used to say. Well, what a nice lady I look, she thought, time for the pub. Radio off, lock the door, here I go to the Red Lion, a traditional English pub on the corner by the church yard on the main street in Lees Village in Lancashire. Walking in Katie took in the clientele; every male eye was on her. She shyly smiled and walked to the bar. Eying up the ale, she made a choice: "A half pint of Newton Court Perry please," she asked the middle aged barman. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement; a man walked over to her.
He said in a warm voice, “Here, let me buy that for you.”
Looking over at the man, Katie quickly looked him up and down in less time than it took to stroke a pussycat. She agreed, “Thanks.”
The stranger added, “And the same for me please but a pint of it,” to the barman.
Locking eyes, Katie blushed ever so slightly. Noticing this, the guy smiled, “I'm Nigel. It's great to meet you.”
Katie nodded thanks for the drink, replying, “I'm Katie.”
“Nice to meet you on this lovely spring day. I must say you look very pretty, a real English Princess,” Nigel complimented Katie, who smiled happily at his honest compliment.
“Thank you Nigel. Shall we sit down?” she replied.
“Yes lets sit over there by the window, it’s a good table with a nice view,” Nigel agreed. They casually walked over to an oak table with matching chairs near the large open bay window and sat down to enjoy their drinks. A small silence descended as the duo decided what to say while enjoying the happy feeling of not being alone on this glorious spring day. A gentle breeze whispered through the opening, refreshing them both. Nigel spoke, breaking the spell, “You know, I was going to stay in but my friend talked me into going to the pub. He ended up letting me down and I was on my own, I was going to go home but before I did I saw you…”
