YEAR’S END

The year’s end is near as we head to the next one.

Already Halloween has come and gone

and bonfire night is a warm memory.

Soon Christmas will be here to dazzle

us with seasons greeting and merriment for all.

We remember what has been before

and memories we’ll keep forever.

There is still time to enjoy this year

as the leaves turn golden and dark nights draw in.

in double quick time we’ll be planning things

for the next 12 months and the whole process

will start again.

Because this is winter and nearly the year’s end.
